Kitakogane Shell Mound Park

This shell mound contains the ruins of a settlement dating to the early and middle Jomon periods some 4500 to 7000 years ago. Other discoveries include a watering shrine, dugout homes, and gravesites. Now, the place acts as a historical park complete with an info center on learning about Jomon culture.
