Guardian Rock Observation Park

The site of the Takinoue campsite on the shores of Lake Toya has been open since 2015 as the “Guardian Rock Observation Square”. Here, large rocks about 5m square and spread out over 100m sit several meters offshore from the shore. Its name was due to its role in suppressing the flow from Sobetsu Falls and therefore seen as a kind of guardian deity that prevented the Takinomachi area from flooding.
