Mimatsu Masao Museum
Masao Mimatsu, director of the Sobetsu Post Office, was born in the year of the eruption of Mt. Aizu-Bandai in 1888 and witnessed the births of Meiji-Shinzan, Showa-Shinzan, and in the year of his death, Usu-Shinzan. The museum exhibits valuable materials such as the record of the creation of Showa-Shinzan as spelled out by a man who was fascinated by volcanoes and who entrusted his life to them.
